At the heart of the Medical & Therapeutic Center La Lignière, we offer diabetic patients comprehensive care tailored to your needs and expectations.

Evolution of the Number of Diabetic People in Switzerland

The increase in the number of diabetic people in Switzerland is a reality that requires special attention. Over the years, a significant rise in this condition has been observed, reflecting a concerning trend. In 2022, 5% of the population either suffered from diabetes or were taking medication to lower their blood sugar levels*. In the case of type 2 diabetes, this growth can be attributed to various factors such as sedentary lifestyles, unbalanced eating habits (including overweight), and other environmental influences.

In response to this trend, La Lignière is committed to addressing the growing needs of the diabetic population by strengthening our preventive actions and raising greater awareness about the importance of diabetes care and management. By collaborating with other health stakeholders and enhancing our educational programs, we aim to encourage positive lifestyle changes within the Swiss community by offering innovative solutions and tailored care.

Personalized Care for a Better Quality of Life

We place personalization at the heart of our approach, tailoring care to the specific needs and expectations of each patient. Our multidisciplinary team, consisting of diabetologists, diabetes nurses, dieticians, podiatrists, psychologists, adapted sports instructors, and physiotherapists, allows us to collaborate with all the necessary specialists for comprehensive care.

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for people living with diabetes by supporting them in their daily lives and promoting optimal management of their condition.

Innovative Educational Programs

We go beyond traditional care by offering specific educational programs such as Diafood and Diafit, designed for individuals with type 2 diabetes:

  • Diafood guides participants in managing their diet in relation to diabetes (4 workshops per program).

  • Diafit offers a certified competence center for outpatient physical activities, supervised by healthcare professionals.

These programs aim to empower patients in the daily management of their health. They are covered by basic insurance with a medical prescription.

Strengthened Collaboration with DiabOuest

Recognized for its excellence in diabetic patient care, La Lignière is part of the DiabOuest network. This cantonal program aims to promote high-quality care by enhancing the coordination of services, fostering collaboration among involved professionals, and sharing essential information to ensure a better understanding of the medical context of each diabetic patient.
