Forest maintenance and evolution
Preserving our forested estate is an essential task that requires constant attention and proactive management. Changing weather conditions, severe storms, and evolving needs demand regular monitoring and thoughtful actions to ensure the health and sustainability of our forest ecosystem.
In August 2013, our forest was severely affected by a devastating storm, causing significant damage over an area of 1.2 hectares, nearly 10% of our total forest of 13.5 hectares. This storm was a shock to our staff and residents at that time. Violent winds uprooted numerous trees, altering the forest landscape significantly. In response to this challenge, we promptly planted over 2500 young oaks to replace the lost trees and restore biodiversity to our ecosystem.
Our forest ranger conducts regular inspections to assess the health of the forest and monitor vegetation changes. These periodic visits help detect signs of stress, diseases, or pest infestations, enabling us to take preventive or corrective measures as needed.
Simultaneously, a detailed forest management plan is developed each year to guide our forestry management actions. This plan includes strategies for sustainable natural resource management, biodiversity protection, preservation of wildlife habitats, and promotion of environmentally-friendly forest management practices. By adhering to this plan, we are committed to preserving the beauty and ecological richness of our forest for future generations.
